Full Moon in Aries: Love Without Limits

This morning, a video showed up in my social media feeds which describes the energy of this Full Moon perfectly. Here's a link to it here:

Self Love

The Moon in Aries is active, innovative, and self-assured. It knows what it wants and will not tolerate any restrictions in its attempts to get it. It's direct and straight-forward and doesn't have time to fool with etiquette and politeness. It is the primal Self it is most unadulterated form. We're feeling ourselves in all of our glory. The paradox of this Full Moon, with the Sun in Libra, is that self-appreciation and assertiveness that we are feeling is exactly the key to having balanced and whole relationships.

Many of us have been indoctrinated with the idea that we have to let go of ego and become selfless to be lovable and to have healthy relationships. We are taught that ego kills relationships therefore we must sublimate our ego needs in favor of meeting the needs of others. And just like most lies, there is just enough truth in there to make us believe it and spend our lives denying our most basic needs. We all do it, especially if we are spiritually inclined. After all, we all know selfish insensitive assholes and we don't want to be that guy.

There are few examples in our society of what a healthy ego looks like. During the last New Moon, we were called to remember who we are in our core and reclaim that greatness. To stop settling for being Vestal Virgins and be the Virgo Deities that we really are. At this Full Moon, the fullness of who are should be emerging. The Aries Moon encourages that kind of unfettered self-expression.

Now that we are becoming totally comfortable with who are and are learning the power that is inherent in being your entire self, now it is time to address our relationships. The Full Moon, with the Sun in Libra, is addressing that dilemma. How can you be fully and completely yourself while being in relationship with others who are also fully and completely themselves? How can we build a community and society which allows for free self-expression and the unlimited development of personal potential?

The answer during this Full Moon seems to be with Pluto in Capricorn. Pluto in Capricorn not only purges and cleanses societal structures, it also cleans out and removes outgrown personal habits, self-defeating thoughts, and old defense mechanisms that no longer work. Pluto represents death and regeneration and it's time for us to willingly do that work. We have to be willing to make sacrifices but not in ways that make us smaller and weaker. Instead we learn how to use our power wisely so that we bring our best to our relationships.

Currently there is Venus/Mars conjunction in Virgo which is opposite Neptune in Pisces. When Venus and Mars are conjunct, we can experience the perfect balance of masculine and feminine energies within ourselves. Our desires are in line with our values. In Virgo, we are always striving for perfection and we derive pleasure from serving others. Therefore, this conjunction promises harmonious and peaceful relationships. However, in order to achieve that, we have re-evaluate our values and the methods we use to reach our goals. Neptune's dreams of perfect romance can only be actualized if we are willing to do the Pluto work.

Now is the time to insist that relationships meet our individual needs. Now is the time for us to hold each other accountable, in love. Now is the time to move beyond mere toleration of others' differences and into acceptance and celebration of those differences. Now, more than ever, it is true that if we honor and follow our own internal inspirations and vision, we give others the freedom and room to follow theirs. Now is the time to remember that all love is self-love.
