New Moon in Aries: Full Accountability

Work has had me running the past month or so but I haven't stopped observing the lunations. I just haven't had time to write about them.

But this lunation has so much violence attached to it. I have noticed that MNPD violence tends to follow lunation cycles. But this past New Moon? I mean, it is the nature of the Aries New Moon to get things popping but this is ridiculous. If you're watching the news, you know what I'm talking about.

Which includes local Nashville news. There's a lot I don't know about Cleveland Shaw. I do know that he was a Violence Interrupter which means to me that he cared about his community and wanted his people to stop killing each other. So much so that he was willing to put himself in the middle to stop it. And it appears he paid the ultimate price for that. And that was hurtful enough. But yesterday, a child was killed while people were gathering to grieve his death. I don't have the words.

Over the past few weeks, I have been involved in deep discussions about the state of our Black community in Nashville. Some of the discussions have been public, most have not. We all know what the problems are but we don't agree on solutions. What I wish we would agree on is that we don't have to agree on solutions. Our community is diverse enough and our issues are complex enough that there is room for all of us to do what we do. We can have an inside game running in tandem with a strong outside game. It's possible. I just had more respect for what others are doing whether they choose to do it on the inside or the outside. With Mars in Gemini, we have all kinds of tools and tactics at our disposal.

The lessons I learn from looking at this New Moon chart is that we have to understand that our actions, no matter how small they may seem or how private we think they are, have ramifications for everyone. We have to appreciate the small ways we are connected and move accordingly.

This New Moon is about fighting with integrity. It's about being accountable to our people. If we cannot be true to our principles and be fully connected to and transparent with our people, we're doomed to fail.

That's the litmus test. No matter how we choose to fight or who we choose to fight with, if we ain't including the people we're claiming to fight for and allowing them to check us, we're the problem.

The Saturn/Uranus square is just getting started y'all. We got a long couple of years ahead of us.
